School counselors have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Counseling. They are licensed professionals, many with a classroom background. They are trained to offer compassionate, responsive services to support school wide missions and goals. Most continue their professional development by attending workshops, taking additional university courses, and through membership to professional organizations. 

RESEARCH ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SCHOOL COUNSELING
